There has been great news for those looking to invest in Salford Crescent this week as plans are currently being created by council bosses in the hope of turning Salford Crescent into the ‘Brooklyn’ of Greater Manchester.
The Salford Crescent master plan has the aim to create a new ‘city’ district in Salford and has been billed as a £800m investment opportunity. The scheme is set to include more than 2,500 homes, a new school, a hotel, student flats, shops, restaurants, bars and parks – making it a complete regeneration of Salford Crescent.
Manchester’s council leaders want Salford Crescent to become a key cultural destination in Greater Manchester. Salford mayor Paul Dennett announced at the international property conference MIPIM “This is one of the region’s most exciting opportunities to create a truly world class place to live, learn and visit with a university at its heart.”
Salford already draws quite a lot of attention from those outside of Manchester as it is the home to MediaCity, the media and digital hub of the North which is known for homing big names such as the BBC, Kelloggs Cereal and ITV Granada.
This is just one of the many reasons why we decided to build Wavelength, our development located in the hive of all creativity in Salford Quays. After the 1bn investment to start Phase 2 of MediaCity back in 2016 – we knew there was room for regeneration in Salford and we are pleased that our Wavelength development will be involved in this.
MediaCity currently has over 250 creative media businesses, this is set to double in size along with the rest of MediaCity with the second phase gaining planning consent in September 2016.
This is brilliant news for investors looking to invest in Salford because with the current regeneration taking place combined with the incredible development of MediaCity, it means that more young professionals looking to settle down and start a career will be heading towards Salford.
Our Wavelength development is the perfect home to these very people, as it offers waterside living, excellent transport links and is right in the home of all things digital and creative.
We’re pleased to hear the news this week of the big investment into Salford’s regeneration, and we are excited to see the big changes we have been expecting for a while for Salford.
